Aloha! Na 'Āina Kai Botanical Gardens is a 240-acre property on Kauaʻi's North Shore that translates to "Lands by the Sea." You'll discover exceptional diversity here—exotic tropical plants from around the world mixed with native Hawaiian species, arranged through themed areas featuring towering palms, vibrant flowering shrubs, and stunning water features including a spring-fed natural pond.
What sets Na 'Āina Kai apart is its scope. Beyond the botanical gardens, you'll explore an impressive sculpture park with unique art installations and learn about their sustainable hardwood plantation. The self-guided tours work well for families, with easy access paths throughout the property.
Reservations are required, so book ahead. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM (closing at 3:00 PM on Fridays). Morning visits offer the best light for photos. The gift shop at the exit features local and botanical-themed items worth browsing before you leave.
